Go peep my makeup and eyebrow work in Billboard Magazines Top Women In Music on Michele Anthony who won the number one spot!
A co-worker tipped me off to this awesome mascara by “Revlon” called “Grow Luscious”. I’ve been using it for about a month now and I truly see a difference in the length of my lashes! I’m so excited, I just had to share.
I don’t usually like to use this kind of stuff (with the exception of brow enhancers) because I feel that once you stop using it, everything goes back to how it was. Although, I have to say that I am really enjoying having long lashes at the moment!
From a makeup artist perspective, I like the brush, which goes from skinny to fat so you can really get in there on those tiny lashes! I also like the rich, slick, blackest of black formula that coats every lash with ease.
So, if you’re like me, just go out and have some fun, ok? Bat those lashes in the new year like they’re going out of style!

I am OBSESSED with this purely plant-based, 100% natural skincare line called “Earth tu Face”. I can’t express how throughly excited I am about every single one of their products!
“Earth tu Face” was created from the ground up by two herbalist’s in California, Sarah Buscho and Marina Storm. Their belief in never putting anything on your skin that you would not put in your mouth plus minimal waste packaging and avoiding synthetics & preservatives makes them #1 in my book! Not to mention all their products are organic and GMO free! Something that I truly strive for in my day to day living!
The products I currently have in rotation came in the Voyage! Travel Kit . This kit is a great trial start to get you hooked! I love the scent/feel of the “Palma Rosa + Aloe” face wash and I can’t stop massaging the “Anti-Aging + Restorative” intensive repair serum on my face morning/night. Another is the Salt Scrub which got me through my aches and pains from a cold this past week! I highly recommend you go to the “Earth tu Face” website NOW to start reaping the benefits from this truly amazing skincare line.

As I sat here pondering what product to write about. I decided to go ahead and eat that huge pomegranate that my friend Adam left at my apt during his visit. I remember him telling me how to get all those wonderful, juicy, red garnet seeds out with ease.
The trick is to fill up a huge bowl with water, cut the pomegranate in fours and submerse them in the water while you gently separate the seeds. The skins or “astringent membranes”, (the white, spongy stuff) will float to the top. Remove the skins and pour the bowl into a strainer. You now have a yummy bowl of pomegranate seeds! I highly recommend buying a whole pomegranate rather than the pre packaged seeds. It’s fresh and much more satisfying!
So, this got me thinking. What are the skin benefits of this superfood? Well, besides helping to lower cholesterol, providing antioxidants that fight off cancer-causing free radicals, and being loaded with fiber, this fruit has endless benefits for the body! I read so much about how awesome this fruit is for us that I am now convinced to eat it everyday!
After much searching and reading, the two things that kept popping up were collagen production and sun damage protection, as well as cell regeneration, anti-aging and anti-inflamatory. This is all wonderful news for our skin! The real benefits are in the skin of the pomegranate and I found a great raw food site that explains it’s uses and how to prepare it here.
I also discovered that many beauty products use pomegranate oil as a main ingredient because of it’s rare Omega 5 essential fatty acid known as Punicic Acid which is a potent antioxidant and natural phytoestrogen (plant-based estrogen). I will be on the lookout to try some of these products for future posts!
Now get out to your local grocery store to stock up on this awesome superfood with beautiful garnet colored jewels called pomegranate! Please try to buy organic!
I missed the boat for Throwback Thursday, so today I am going to just do a simple “Throwback.”
This is makeup I did for Warren Tricomi Salon‘s hairstylist assistant’s class. Edward Tricomi (one of the owners and stylist) demonstrated a fabulous use of garbage bags and foliage for the class. What a fun way to keep your stylist assistants interested and motivated!
AHHHH!! I found a miracle mask! It’s by “Nude” and it’s just what the doctor ordered.
Ok, so summer is over (insert sad face here) and that means less days out in the sun. Which brings us to a positive turn of events. We can now start using AHA’s or some of you may know it as Alpha Hydroxy Acid to slough away all the dead skin!
What are AHA’s you ask? I found the Nude Miracle Mask on the Sephora site with great information about AHA’s and helpful reviews about the product. You can read about it here.
The directions say to use it once or twice a week. I started out once a week for the 1st two weeks to see how my skin felt and now I use it twice a week with no problems. I have normal to combination skin with very few breakouts. I may go back to once a week depending on how my skin feels in the cold winter months. You HAVE to use a sunscreen of 30 SPF or higher EVERYDAY and a week after stopping while using this product. You should be wearing sunscreen everyday anyway! Now get your butt out to Sephora and give it a try!
P.S. I’ve been gone for almost a month now trying all kinds of new products, so get ready for more product spotlights this month!
Hello World! It’s been two weeks since I’ve posted anything! I’m back with new experiences and ideas, so stay tuned!
This week’s tbt is an on location photo shoot I did for InStyle Magazine’s (British Edition) Travel Section in September 2006. I was doing Catherine Malandrino’s makeup pretty regularly back then and she asked me to do her makeup for this shoot. I love doing on location shoots because you get to be outside and the scenery is constantly changing throughout the day. Plus, nothing beats doing makeup in natural light and I remember that day being especially gorgeous out!
This spread was eight years ago and a lot of the places she talks about are gone now. This is why we love/hate you forever changing New York City!!
